2007-08 NBA.com Rookie Survey

On NBA.com they have posted a survey taken by the
2007 Draft class. This survey is very interesting due
to the fact that it allows us to see how the rookies
look at their fellow rookies.
The thing I find most interesting is that over 50% of the rookies surveyed believe Kevin Durant will be the Rookie of the Year. But when surveyed who is most ready to contribute right away that is taken by Al Horford with 29.5%. the interesting part is that Horford doesn't get one vote to become Rookie of the Year. How can he be the most ready to contribute right away, but not be considered for Rookie of the Year? If I remembered correctly last season every scout and writer thought Brandon Roy was the most ready to play in the NBA and guess what, he won the Rookie of the Year. So I find it hard to believe that your peers think you are the most ready to contribute right away but you can't win Rookie of the Year. I would think that both would coincide with each other.
Yi Jianlian was the rookie the players know the least about, which isn't very shocking since some NBA GMs know nothing about him, like his age or have seen him workout, I'm looking at you Larry Harris.
One more thing, the Rookies were surveyed on who they would most like to play against, and Kobe and Shaq were voted one, two. The interesting thing is some of the players thst they were looking forward to play against are Jamal Crawford, Ryan Gomes, David Lee, J.J. Redick, Quiton Ross, and Josh Smith. No offense to those guys but come on these guys aren't one of a kind players. None of these guys are All-Stars, or Hall of Famers and they will never be, why wouldn't you be like I want to dunk on Yao, or block Carmello at the buzzer. They are like I'd rather put up 50 against Jamal Crawford, or J.J. Reddick. I just don't get how Jason Kidd, and Dwayne Wade only get one vote each and how players like Carmello, Iverson, Rasheed Wallace, and Ben Wallace don't get any votes.
If I could play against any current NBA player, I would want to play against Reggie Evans, so I could hit him in the nuts.
