Problems with the League

The NBA isn't a perfect league, it does have its problem and I'm not talking about scandals or things of that nature I'm talking about problems with the product itself. So lets look at some of these problems.

All-Stars not staying with the same franchise their entire career. On the 2007 East team there are only four players on the roster that are still on the same team that drafted them, and all four of the players have four years or experience or less. The 2007 West team had 10 players on the same team that drafted them. So 14 out of the 29 all stars less than half are with the team that drafted them or acquired their rights. There isn't a solution to this because you can't really control where players want to play at. Hopefully the young players in the East decide to stay with their current teams and people will follow the teams and not just the players.

No rivalries, there isn't a single rivalry that matters in the NBA anymore. The League and ABC tried to make the Lakers, Heat a compelling feud but that didn't really happen. There aren't compelling match-ups for fans to watch, this could be due to expansion. Are there just too many team in the league? Contraction could be a possible solution, but that will never happen. The only other suggestion I would have is to make divisional games more important. The way you would do this is by having each tame play every team in the league twice and then having them play against divisional teams 8 times a season. I believe this would make the league stronger because it would allow rivalries to be formed again.

The announcing isn't as good as it use to be. If the video below doesn't give you goose-bumps, I really don't know how to argue my point to you.

Why don't they do these sort of intros anymore? I don't believe this can be fixed, it has been down hill ever since the NBA went to ABC/ESPN.
